Virgin Blade

Before seven year old ONEKE’s mother dies, she hands Oneke to BESSEM, her city-based sister. Twelve years later, Bessem dies
and Oneke, now a nursing student returns to her village to ask her father for school fees. On arrival she hears a girl screaming
as her breasts are being “ironed” to prevent them from developing too fast, and remembers the pain she herself suffered when
it was done to her. Then she meets her childhood friend EFUNDEM preparing her daughter ARAH for circumcision. Being a
nursing student, she knows the dangers associated with this practice, and tries to stop it. Arah eavesdrops on Oneke arguing with
Efundem as she tries to convince Efundem to spare her, Arah. On the circumcision day Arah gets frightened and runs to Oneke
for protection. Oneke persuades Bate to help her escape with Arah. Efundem discovers Arah’s absence and reports Agbor who
happens to be Arah’s father. Agbor and his men start a man hunt that ends with fatal consequences for everybody concerned
